Lost my Omega Seamaster multi function quartz [model 2521.81] at weekend whilst out walking with my dog. Absolutely gutted as It was a gift from my wife 8 years ago.Do I replace it with another or should I get a cheap watch that I won't miss if same happens again in future?

frown Insurance will cover the £ value but not the sentimental value.

Get it on a Nato if you want to avoid losing it, I guess.

How on earth do you loose a watch whilst walking the dog?

Assumed the strap/pin broke. As the strap was loose fit I just didn't notice till it was too late.

Perhaps it was a big dog.

Result! Heartening to know there are still some decent and honest people about. I'd get the strap repaired as I think a smart watch on a Nato looks like a beautiful woman wearing dungarees and wellies but that's just my opinion.

Giving a reward to the person who handed it in would be the right thing to do IMHO.

Is this some sort of inherent weakness with Omega straps? It's just that there seems to be a few posts on here recently about broken pins and (the cost of) getting them replaced.

brilliant that you got it back. it is very nice to know there are nice people still out there as i would have thought if someone picked a watch up like that they would keep it.
i agree with nato straps they just don't look nice on anything other than hard sport like watches.

i once lost my lovely sekio kentic tintanim watch and this was about 7 years ago and i was poor and i really wanted the watch and spent about £450 on it as it was when the kenetic was just realised in titanium and i was very gutted.

Bloody hell. I'm genuinely amazed.

I suppose there are still a few honest folk holding out against the odds in this cesspit of a country....

Have just come out of hospital so reward is on the list of things to do,apparantly I need to go through police as they won't actually release finders details to me - presumably data protection. Would have preferred to have thanked the lady in question personally but guess that won't be possible. We need more people like this and the NHS is just one of the areas in which they can be found. Many thanks to you all!
