I've just performed a battery transplant to get an old Sekonda back to life. The back came off with a little persuasion from a very thin screwdriver to the bit that you're meant to prise it off from.

However, can't seem to get the back back on. The other watch that I took the battery from (another Sekonda) accepted its back back on with a simple squeeze, but not this one.

Anyone have any hints on how to get my back back on?

Check the rubber seal (if any) isn't getting in the way.

There is a rubber seal, but it is a mere sliver. That might be it though. If only I had some lubricant to hand...

Try removing the seal just to see if it fits easily without it. If it does, then that's your problem.

Some watch backs need a bit more pressure than you can do with just fingers and thumbs. I use a small flypress.

Some of them need a lot of pressure to get back on thats how they stay water resistant. Not sure if watchmakers lube the seals. They may do. Be careful though some lube willl rot rubber.

Be carefull not to crack the crystal as well it can happen when pushing hard on the back
