Quick question for the watch aficionados…

Is the IWC portugese available with a steel bracelet?

The chrono version with the white dial/blue hands

Only reason I ask is that I’ve only seen them with leather straps so far.

If anyone has any pictures, they would be welcome!

Fair enough. Thanks Dominic

Im guessing it could look good on a steel bracelet though? Or am I alone in this?

Hmmmmn, my thoughts are that the 3714 is perfect as it is. I think the design lends itself as more of a 'Gentlemans' chronograph, a little smarter and more formal. As opposed to the Pilot or Doppelchronograph which is overtly a tool/sports watch.

Just my thoughts,

D.

Fair point Dom.

I totally agree that it does look perfect the way it is.

Just wandered if the steel bracelet was had been done on it or not...

How much are these going for nowadays? the Chrono and the non-Chrono on white dial/blue hands/blue strap. (not too sure what is the preferred one - they both look good!)

Retail on the non-chrono is c£7K, chrono is c£4.5K.

Non-chrono is the one to have.

sorry for being so ignorant, but wouldn't the chrono be worth more, going on the logic of the actual chrono feature, as opposed to the 'normal' non-chrono?

(please dont shoot me, i really have no idea about IWC's - just wandering what the deal is with them and maybe pick one up down the line for my 30th)

I think (do not take this as gospel) that the non-chrono uses a fully 'in-house' IWC movement, whereas the chrono version uses a generic movement (a Valjoux 7750) that is modified by IWC.

That's right the automatic IW5001-- series features the Calibre 5000 7 day automatic movement, The chronograph IW3714-- series uses a modified Valjoux 7750 auto-chrono movement.
