the bracelet on my father's seamaster has broken - one of the pins in the links has snapped

the watch company in Chiswick don't deal with Omega so is there anywhere else in London (pref W or N) that can service and repair the bracelet?

It needs to go back to Omega - any authorised Omega dealer will sort it out for you but it will take a few weeks.

If the pin has broken, it can only be sourced from Omega (unless you can find who manufactured it) - and they are unlikely to sell them to specialists.

It might not be that expensive to get fixed, after all the watch head does not need opening. An Omega specialist like the one on Bond St may even keep the pins in stock? Worth a call.

Ric, is it a current 'Bond' type or something older?

Is it one of the links that has broken, or the pin that holds bracelet to head?

This happened to mine, back to omega for 12 weeks.
3 of the pins needed fixing - i think they are straight pins that are press fitted onto a small sleeve within the bracelet- 3 months later it came back & the bracelet fell apart before i left the shop.

I ended up with a new bracelet (£400) from omega FOC.

I had mine serviced at Ernest Jones in Richmond. They sent it off to Omega.

Cost was very reasonable. Took a while (8wks), but then it always does with servicing watches I believe.

DomH from here might be able to help you, and if he can't he'll definitely point you in the right direction.

yeah, DomH sent me to Chiswick with mine but the lady on the phone said they don;t touch them

Dom, could you have a word?

JAYB - pics will be sent later but it's the first link AFTER the main link which attaches to the head

it's one of these - the pin that's broken is the middle one

Their watchmaker is away for a fortnight, that's probably why they can't help. Try Simon Gee at the Omega boutique in Old Bond St on 020 7491 8113, a petrolhead and good bloke. It's a 2 minute job to replace a missing bracelet pin.

I get all my pins and springbars from these guys.

http://www.ofrei.com/page582.html

Changing links pins bars etc is very easy to do yourself.

If you want help finding the pin/bar whatever you need just say so.

Another option is to replace the bracelet with a leather strap. I have a crocodile strap on my Speedy, and it looks the dogs, and for me more comfortable than a metal bracelet. I've got three omegas, and none of the metal bracelets fit comfortably, as the range of adjustment is too coarse. I've now got two on leather straps.
