Breitling Airwolf Raven

Not a Brietling fan, and it's quartz, albeit 'super quartz', but quite like the look of this nonetheless.

Doesnt look bad, but surely it's about time watch manufactures found/used something else than a simple LCD display?

What does the bezel do. I understand that it shows compass markings but does it have any compass functions?

It's used as a compass when used in relation to the sun position and the time, also they can be used as a time marker when used in diving etc.

You can do that with any watch that has an hour hand. I suppose the bezel just makes it slightly easier?

It's just more pseudo explorer blokey mumbo jumbo isn't it? hehe

It's a slide rule.

You can use it to do simple multiplication or division, or to work out your rate of descent/ascent and fuel consumption.

Personally, with the numbers being so small, I'd rather use a calculator or a pen and pencil. Less chance of planting your plane into the ground that way.

Less embarrassing than owning something called an Airwolf Raven?

Sorry hehe

It's there or thereabouts.

Accident investigators often look for the pilot first, to see if he was half way through some calculation on his watch at the time of the crash...

Way too fussy.

I don't like Breitlings much. All that crap is totally irrelevant to anyone other than a fighter pilot, and come to think of it, I doubt they fiddle around with their watches while flying the Eurofighter past mach 2.

Just my opinion of course.

Ah, I didn't see the logarithmic inner scale. You can also do currency conversions and 1 in 60 calculations with that inner scale. pretty much all the crp-5 (anyone remember them) stuff. hehe

It was the compass outer function I was unsure about.
