Whats the going rate for a watch valuation these days?
Just phoned my local jewelers and got a price of £30 until I told them the valve and then it went up to £45.
The insurance company is insisting on a current valuation, even though it's a current Rolex sports watch, problem is the RRP has rocketed since I bought it, the fustrating thing is the valuation is just going to be the current RRP, and £45 for someone to look in the current Rolex catalogue and write the price down seem to be taking the mick a little. and it'll take a week banghead

Rubbish! I had a similar thing with my SD. Asked goldsmiths to value it, they said £80 and would send it away for a month!!!

I always get one at point of purchase now (if from dealer)

Sounds good. Bvlgari have always sorted me out every few years for a valuation foc.

Luckily my current insurers don't require them or I'd be having to get quite a few every couple of years now.

Both Crouch's and Martin's jewellers were happy to provide me valuations for my Sub and Airking F.O.C.
No mention of a 'fee'.
