Hi All,

Looking to buy a Longines Master chrono for my 30th, as a pressie to myself.

This one, to be exact:

I can get it in the local shops for £1410, but searching online I can get it cheaper. But I get nervous of fakes etc.

Is there a good website I can trust for this type of watch, which in turn offers all the guarantees that a local shop would?

Thanks for your advice.

Have you tried speaking to a local dealer to find out if they would offer any discount? I don't know at what price the web retailers are offering it at, but my guess would be that you could get close to matching it in a local store.

I may be mistaken, but I think I saw that watch in Mappin & Webb's sale recently - £300 discount IIRC.

I've used watchfinder.co.uk before but as you are I was nervous of them simply because it was a high value product and on line is never as safe as face to face, however I soon realised they were local to me so I phoned them up and popped down to their offices to do the deal, I can only vouch for them being real, reputable and not working out of a moscow appartment.

Thanks Mel. Where are they based, out of interest?

Maidstone, Kent I believe. I've also heard that they are ok to deal with.
