My tag has had this issue for a while now. It was fixed, but has happened again.

I have a Kirum and the pin between the strap and the face is missing. Tag are saying its going to take 6 weeks to repair (and probably £100's) is there anywhere else to get it sorted quickly and cheaper?

I phoned them yesterday. The watch mechanism is the only thing that is covered with the warranty, the strap isn't.

I've owned the watch for 2 years, the same problem happened when I had it for only 1 year, the guy in the TAG shop just swapped the strap with a "spare" one they had.

The person I spoke to yesterday said it would need to be sent away and then they would let me know if they will cover it, but of course they wont.

Really, what's the point in buying a thousand pound watch for it to break a bracelet every year costing (probably) the best part of £300.

So I sent it away via the TAG shop in Bicester.

The strap has been replaced 2 years ago, then sent away twice since to be "fixed". I took it into the shop and the guy said it wasn't really acceptable. He sent it away with a big note on the form *3rd Strap in under 3 years* etc...

I phoned up yesterday to get confirm they'd repair it for free (;)), to be told there was a quote sent to me.

Now how much would a strap be on a watch worth £1000 retail, £600 in the Bicester shop....Nope

£587.11

Five hundred and eighty seven pounds, eleven pence.

I told the lady that I was not happy paying for basically a new watch, for JUST the strap. So she is going to talk to her manager and see what see can do.

I love my watch, it was a 21st birthday present, but my god. I'd rather buy a watch from a company who wants to keep customers. You may well see a "what watch for XXX" topic from me soon. Prior to this I was thinking of spending £2000 on a Monaco, now I'm now sure.

An update if anyone gets the same problem:

She finally came back to be a week later, the shop having no record of the repair. But they have replaced the strap for free and its (of course) come with 12 months warranty. I think I shall be setting myself a reminder before 12 months is up!

It seems like every week or so there are posts about Tag Service issues!!
3 Straps in 3 years is crazy, A friend of mine bought a Tag just before I bought my Rolex and he has had issues with his, It was away for 3 months for a Feckin Battery!! and then it stopped working and away again for 4 months with a £500 bill.

Thank God I bought a Rolex GMT 10 years ownership now and not a single issue, great build quality and I wear it everyday so it's been well used. In my opinion well worth paying that little bit extra for and I'm sure my friend will tell you the same. He would change to a Rolex today funds permitting.

I've wanted a Monaco or a Carerra (both TAG) for year now, just to have a choice. But I'm not going to buy a TAG again.

2 of my brothers have TAGs too, always going wrong. I'd feel a little better if they had more than a years warranty and it wasn't so expensive to fix.
