hi all.mrs c presently has a rolex datejust 2 colour with jubilee face which she uses every day.its her 40th in a couple of weeks and lost for other ideas i'm thinking of getting her either a breitling cockpit lady in steel with pearl face and a pink strap or a chanel j12 33mm in white.

i've seen a breitling as above for 2400 discounted from 2660 but it still seems expensive.

any ideas about the best/cheapest place to buy either one ,opinions on them or any other ideas for a similar type of watch.

thanks.

I think that the white chanel is a nice looking watch.

Don't know if your wife would go for a square/rectangular face but there is another chanel watch with a rectangular(ish) face and a quite delicate bracelet that is very nice.

Maybe look at Longines (conquest) for a slightly cheaper option for a dive watch or what about one of the lady speedmasters (smaller size and pastel coloured strap.

Think you should be asking for a £350-£390 discount on a watch at £2,600 sticker price from any High St jeweller. (But as always with haggling, ask for best price and go from there - I am still amazed at how £hundreds tumble off with no real effort!)

Hs prices will be double cost pretty much, so a £2600 watch at retail will be in the boks at £1300.

Ahve you looked at Cartier too? They have some nice watches with nice internals for the money...

The white ceramic with white diamonds 33mm Chanel J12 is simply stunning and all your OH's girlfriends WILL notice it and ask and admire.......

I got one for my OH and a few months later got her the black ceramic 33mm with the pink sapphires which is also stunning.

If you want an eye-catching piece for the OH look no further.

I'd go for the White ceramic. It looks stunning plus it's cartier she'll love it.

thanks guys.
we are going out tomorrow to have a look at a few although she doesn't know that yet.

at the moment i think the chanel in white is no1.
i'll let you know what happens - knowing my luck she'll want none of them and i'll be stumped again.

My wife adores hers. Very elegant, understated and a 'proper' watch.

Edit: that reminds me - got to find out when mine is coming back from the manufacture.
