To get half decent results you need natural light, a tripod, a remote shutter release or to use the self timer function.

FWIW I use a Nikon D40, mostly with a 18-70mm AF-S lens, but occasionally with a proper macro lens.

Make sure you use an interesting background that suits the watch, or even make yourself a 'lightbox' so there is no background at all... really enhances the effect.

Same here, I have an automatic with the day/date as my daily driver.

Good stuff, Tom. It's a beautiful watch... I just never wore it - I always swap between the other two in the pictures. Wear it in good health :0)
