Swatch fans, knowledge required please
Discussion
I know there's a few Swatch fans and collectors on here so just wondered if any of you can advise me please...
I'm looking to buy another Swatch as a birthday gift for a female friend soon.
She was born in September 1986 and I'd like to buy an original model from that period.
Can anyone tell me or show me what was available then and point me in the right direction (other than eBay) to source said models please?
Other than that I'm open to suggestion.
She's a fashion photographer and make up artist and as such is into designers such as Vivienne Westwood although I'm not buying her the Orb Swatch as it's not something she could wear everyday.
Any decent models that stand out from the rest?
I've already got her the Time Spective from the current Manish Arora collection but want something older to compliment it.
Many thanks in advance and feel free to turn this into a "Show us your Swatch" thread too amongst the suggestions.

Love some of the old Swatches.
I was a little miffed recently when i put a battery in my original Swatch Skin - didn't bleedin' well work.
But the automatic swatch works fine, it just looks/feels a little naff. Squiggly are good on delivery though - they've got a good reputation, deservedly so.

I've been buying a few Swatches recently, I only use Ebay though.
Sites like Squiggly get a bit daft with their prices I find. I collect them for a bit of fun, I rarely wear them.
On Ebay there seems to be a massive gulf between 'buy it now' prices and the prices they go for in a normal auction. Some are probably worth getting on for a hundred quid, Jellyfish, 4/12 Flags, Don't Be Too Late, Technosphere all off the top of my head.
Others I wouldn't give more than 15 pounds for. I have a trawl on Ebay searching for 'Vintage Swatch' or something just as vague. If someone is listing it with the correct name, serial and year there will be loads of watchers having a late bid.
I got a nice 'Follow Me' for a few quid by searching for 'Yellow Swatch'
Turn the international search on using Ebay too, there's loads of brand new deadstock floating around in Switzerland / Germany.
I got a Kailua Diver ...
... brand new and unused for under 20 quid.
There's a bloke in Malaysia with skips full of the things :

I've bought from him and can't recommend him enough.
Happy hunting.
