I would buy one of those spaceviews, its just so cool, you just have to buy one that works and get it serviced by one of the very few that know how to, I think as far as spares go you have to use the dead ones for parts.

Because you cant get the electric movements any more, I think the watch making industry doesn't even have the capability to make some of the parts today even if they wanted to. There isn't even spares available because the remaining ones for the most common electric movement were all used up building movements in the 90's for a very limited reissue.

There doesn't seem to be any unobtanium involved.

A modern tuning fork regulated movement would be interesting, using ICs rather than discreet components...
