My watch smells :/

Just got a reasonable DKNY 100 quid jobby

Any tips on how to clean the strap?

The inside of the strap(looks like leather) has started to pong a bit after wearing it in the gym etc.

Would just some fairly liquid and a cloth do the trick?

i clean my watches in oxyclean stuff for cloths (the stuff that bubbles), just add boiling water and it removes all the nasty build up that all watches get.
