Looking for a backup watch for a few weeks, as my omega is in for a few problems. I would like something around £50-£100 that I can use in the workshop or on my bike after I get my watch back.

Ideally i would like a bracelet rather than a strap.

Any body have any interesting ideas?

Thanks

I got one on these myself last week from www.britishwatchcompany.com

It's a G-shock GW-M5600BC-1ER. They go for anything between £80-130 and the above was the cheapest place that I could find.

It's great for general knocking about in and it has the bracelet that you want, which is very comfortable. I would never normally go for a digital watch myself, but was intrigued by the solar and atomic technology and haven't stopped wearing it since.

I'd second a Casio G-shock. I bought an atomic solar with both analogue and digital displays last month for £99 from a local jeweller. Nice knowing on holiday that could wear it on the beach etc and it would just soak up the knocks.

Using it now for sports, working on the bus etc and setting my other watches by - bonus of the atomic feature.

Thank you! some nice watches to consider now.

I'm not really a fan of digital watches sorry, or I should say that I am a big fan of analogue dials.

Has anybody had a close look at the watch that looks like the submariner but is made of plastic, i cant recall the name sorry.

Are you talking about the Toywatch?

My boss (female) got one on my recommendation about a year and a half ago when they were newish to the UK. But this was purchased purely on aesthetic merit! They didn't feel all that sturdy to me, but I think as a fashion accessory they are nice, if a tad over-priced.

That's that out then, thank you!

I've got a non - g shock atomic Casio jobby.

As a day to day watch, it's brilliant. Not worked out how to change it when I go on holiday though, so I always know what time it is at home...

I have decided at last!
After a disappointing few emails with Werners finding out that every watch i wanted was not in stock, i went out my local town and found this.

Its in a similar style to the Aero watches, and best of all im very happy with it smile

Why not just get yourself a £30 Lorus from your nearest HSamuel? Looks decent enough and does the job while your Omega is repaired.
