Just a quick note to thank you lot for inspiring my lovely wife to buy me one of these for our first wedding anniversary. I've hankered after a Seamaster for more years than I can remember, never quite feeling that I could justify the expense of one, but that didn't stop me asking (mainly joking!) before every Christmas and birthday if she'd bought me one!

However I was delighted, surprise and amazed to be given one of these:

I absolutely love it!

Cheers,

FT.

Snap. Impeccable taste!

I've worn mine everyday since I got it last year. About to go on an outdoors holiday, and weighing up whether I should take it or not. Heart says yes, head says no.

You'll notice it more when you're not wearing it than when it's on your wrist when it's 'bedded' in.

Well, a wee problem with the watch, it would just randomly stop. When running, it was perfect but occasionally it would just seem to lose drive, despite having plenty of energy.

Went back under the warranty via a local dealer, and will apparently be 3-4 weeks or so. But to the point: is there any way of finding out what was wrong with it and what has been done to fix it? The local dealer says not really.

Cheers,

FT.

Ask if you can have a report on the problem when the watch is sent back?

Dealer said no, they'd just fix/replace/repair it, extend the warranty and I'd be unlikely to find out what went wrong.. and apparently this is common for all the Swiss watch manufacturers... ?

I'd be interested to know in case it happened again. As my wife said, "I bet car manufacturers wish they could do that".

Sounds just like My Breitling Auto Problem - the four week turnaround is not funny though is it .... and making me like a magpie on this Forum.... WANT. WANT. WANT, but then will be happy once mine returns no doubt.

Oh where is the original Pic of the watch ? I never saw it. 'Sounds' nice though.....
Yeah, I really miss it! The picture was just a link, I've not taken any "real" photos of it yet. One of these: http://www.omegawatches.com/index.php?id=932&d...

Interesting comment regarding the warranty.

My Speedie had to go back for a fault with the chronongraph. When I dropped it in to the AD I am certain they said that it would come back issued with a new 2 year warranty.

However, when it was collected the story had changed, the repair was guaranteed for a year (worthless given that my watch had 18 months of the full warranty remaining.

Interesting, I'll let you know what I find out. Not much use having a repair warrantied for a year if you don't know what the repair was!

Very nice watch FT, I've had a couple of Seamasters and never had any probs.

Who's the AD? Finnies or Jamieson & Carry?
