Import duty

Hi,

Does anyone know what is the rate of duty on an imported used watch (from outside the EU)?

Do you mean an imported used watch, or your old watch being returned from a service, or even a warranty return ?

I had to pay fifteen quid tax on a fifteen quid Swatch here in Norway not so long ago, count yourself lucky.

In answer to the OP, duty on a watch is something like £2. Plus of course VAT at 15%.....

^^^^ + collection, release, admin fees etc can be in the £25 - £40 range.

I bought a watch with a declared value of £80 and paid about £14 duty, customs clearance VAT etc
