Advice needed - what to buy for £500
Discussion
Hi Chaps,
I have no idea about watches, but I am getting fed up with replacing cheap watches every couple of years, so I want to purchase something a bit more substantial.
Nothing big and gold! Something simple that tells the time, that I can wear everyday and doesn't say 'Chav' or 'I am the Big Man'. Also, a small face as I have slim wrists. I am not into wearing big brand labels etc.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated

How about this:

I have one, very nice solid watch, does exactly what it says on the tin

Christopher Ward have a very loyal following on here - and quite rightly too!
Lots of choice for the budget and a few of what I would have suggested have already been mentioned.
So, a couple more to think about - Speedbird III from TimeFactors would be a good choice IMHO and also Seiko's especially the 5's as they tend to be a little bit smaller, normally around 38mm (same as a Sinn 556 and Speedbird III) and can have a few of them for the money you have to spend.
Let us know how you get on, and look forward to seeing some pictures

Some good suggestions above there but mine would be to go for an Oris. Goldsmiths have a number of models in their sales which should be in budget:

Chronomaster have the Max Bill under £500.

I absolutely adore them, very classy. Damn pistonheads, that's another on the wish list!
