What are the Pher's thoughts on the Rado Diastar original?
My uncles all had the original ones back in the 70's and 80's, gold coloured as we come from a long line of jewellers - status thing.
They have now re-introduced them in silver with different coloured faces, black, blue, orange and I think white too and as chronograpghs.
Has anyone ever owned one?

Seems expensive for a watch with a quartz movement, even if it is probably a proper swiss ETA jobbie, they're still cheap.
Also, if the watch is really made out of tungsten carbide then it will be a bloody heavy watch I have a tungsten ring and it's as dense as gold (I have a thing about 'different' materials and extremes on the periodic table - the tungsten ring has the highest melting point of any metal, and my grail is a pure iridium ring, the densest element of the lot - just need to find me a jeweller who's prepared to make me an iridium ring, it's not that expensive but it's probably a bugger to work with).
