Today i picked up my new 39mm blue hydro that was a gift from my folks for my 40th.
I have to say, build quality is top notch and so far seems superb for the price.I will be wearing it everyday and a pleasure this will most certainly be.
If you're thinking of buying one then go for it.Pictures really don't do this watch justice.Superb at its price point...

Treated myself to a black faced automatic version a week or two ago, superb watch!

Any excuse for a gratuitous pic...

Just spent all of Saturday traipsing round London trying to find a blue one. Eventually saw one in the window of an Ernest Jones, but it was shut!

I think these look superb.

I'd really like a black face version but would prefer to buy one previously cared for. Tried getting onto the TZ-UK forum to keep my eyes peeled, but I can't register... frown

I keep saying it - Longines are hugely under rated

Got one! A black face hydroconquest now sits on my wrist. Totally agree with the OP, lovely watch. I'm very, very happy indeed. I also managed to pick it up at a jewellers in Cardiff on a vat free promo week for £460!

I am buying Mrs T a new watch next month and there is a Longines that I think would fit the bill nicely.

However, to save me looking a numpty in the shop I will risk looking a numpty here, how is Longines pronounced ?

I think of it as lonjeen, is that correct.

edited to add, that is a very nice watch retrorider.

I'd have thought it's pronounced long-eens.

A blue Hydroconquest is right up there on the list for my next watch. Very classy for the price.

I usually go with "Long-sjheens", if that makes sense. Pronounce it in a French-ish accent.

Thank You

long eens it is, if they want to sell me a watch they will just have to understand my Scots/French pronunciation.

HBM is right - the 'G' is soft though - "lon'jeen" is probably closer.
