I know it's not wuite up to the megabucks standards of some of the wrist porn on here, but I've got one of these and the strap's broken...

Any advice on where to get a new strap? My local high street jeweller has taken two weeks so far and not got back to me with a price. I'd like to get a price for the replacement leather and a steel one.

Gnomon always seem to get recommended on watch forums, I haven't used them yet though.

The leather strap you have looks like it could be replaced like for like with a Hirsch Rally Strap

If you want to go mad, have a look at resident PH lurker :

http://www.toshi-straps.co.uk/ Hand made to your spec, not ordered one myself but never seen a bad word written about them.

This guy is cheap as chips, I have one of his watches with a strap he made http://www.siswatch727.com/index.do Just email him what you want and he'll do it, great quality although the keeper could be a bit more robust.

You pays your money, you takes your chances.

Thanks, mate, that Hirsch Rally looks like a go, and not pricey really....

I would stay well clear of getting a replacement Tissot strap, unless they have improved the quality in the last few years. I went through two black leather straps on a Tissot Quickster chronograph when it was my daily watch and they only ever lasted about 2 years, before they started to fall apart.

I have a Toshi strap and they are great. It looks / feels like it is made to last forever.

Try this place if you want to order from the UK and do not want to break the bank:

Has anyone ever bought one of the homages/fakes/whatever you want to call 'em from this site? Just been looking and they are a little cheaper than others I have seen on jacksontse, just wondering if anyone knew how the quality stacked up?

Yes, In my defence your honour, I live in Oslo and outward displays of wealth are frowned upon. Because of this I have never seen a 'proper' one of these in the flesh. I ordered a sterile dial to my own specs including a gun metal movement.

Service, and build were spot on. The PVD on the crown won't last long methinks (it's manual if you can't see the movement too well) and it's noisy to be point you can't leave it out.

I think not, apart from the ridiculous price I cannot give money to anyone who happily writes, "I've enlighted it".

Cheers for that, I've just put in an order, I opted for the debit/credit card payment but it just went straight to the "completed your order" screen, any idea how I actually pay?!!

Tell him what you want, and he'll double check with you and send a Pay Pal invoice.

After a day or two he'll send a tracking number, you'll probably find it's already on it's way. I'm pretty sure he doesn't sleep.
