I don't want to buy something ugly, but sure I will
Discussion
It'll be my 30th in Feb and my other half is looking to buy me a watch. I've got a nice Seiko Chronograph pilot thing like the link below
http://www.motogf.co.uk/Products.aspx?cat=13558601
and also a diesel cheapy digital display watch that seems to have been copied by next annoyingly but looks cool enough.
I'd like something dark preferably for about the £300 mark... The below looks good to me.. thoughts?

It is entirely your choice of which watch to get, but for the money IMHO there are better alternatives. You didn't state what kind of watch you were looking for, but looking at the link I am guessing it is a large one.
If I was spending approx £300 on a watch, would certainly have a look at the following -
www.steinhartwatches.de
www.pilotswatches.co.uk
www.chronomaster.co.uk
You can alwasys google the following brands - Sinn, Fortis, Glycine (especially the Combat range will be within budget). I am sure other PH'ers will be along with thoughts and suggestions, so will leave it at that for you to mull over for a while. Good luck in your search and of course let us know which way you go and post a picture or two on the Wrist Shot thread

How about something like this from Tissot prc200

If it had to be a chronograph for that money I'd be looking for a Seiko Sportura.
If you want something a bit more dressy I'd be looking at a Seagull
http://www.usseagull.com/chronograph.htm purely for *that* movement.
And if you really want an ugly chronograph for 1/10 of your spends, it's right here :

Don't click that link if you've just eaten, the watch really is that bad.

It has a manual chronograph movement that looks fantastic. Have a look for Perpetual watches on youtube, he's based in Hong Kong and has his own channel. He uses the same movements. The Seagulls have a good reputation, but are made in China. Doesn't bother me but some are a bit snobbish about it.
Short story is they bought up the tooling from Switzerland for military watches and went from there
Timefactors do one too, off the top of my head it's the PRS15.
The US Seagull site ships to the UK and is cheaper than the EU site if you go down that road.
