Fossil smart link - resizing the band?

Googled it a little, but can't find much useful information.
Picked up a new Fossil watch on monday, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to take out a couple of links on the band. Initial attempts at pushing "in" the pins on the band get absolutely nowhere at all.
Any suggestions - other than calling back into Debenhams?
