Which One of These 2 Shall I Buy?
Discussion
As a follow up to my "what watch for £500 thread", I have narrowed the list down to 2 watches.

TAG Heuer Formula 1 from WatchFinder £470.00
OR

Sinn Instrument 556 from Jura Watches £450
I like the Sinn, but not a lover of the strap, and with a bracelet, the cost shoots up to £600. I also like the movement that can be seen from the rear of the watch, but £150 for servicing every 4 years is an ongoing cost. Also I had never heard of Sinn until I read this forum. Are they any good?
I like the TAG, and I am not bothered about it being quartz, and I like the bracelet.
If everything was perfect I would have them both, but one it must be.

I have a feeling that most of you will go for the Sinn.

Don't really like the look of either of those. Some of the recommendations you received were far nicer.
But... controversially I would go for the Tag out of the two as I think the Sinn looks boring as hell.
Arguably the (Sinn is) better watch (well, clearly the better watch but hey ho) but doesn't do anything for me(that particular model).

Sinn again, but if it's the look of the TAG that you like I'd go for an aquaracer before the F1, similar to this one......

Very different styles of watches those. I like sinn a lot but I don't think that's one of the better looking watches. The movement is better in it though, but you've said yourself you're not bothered by that. So if you like the tag, just buy the tag! Personally, i'd go for one of the more expensive sinn watches, saving up if I had too, as the styling on them just get's better.
Out of the two quoted, it's got to be the Sinn. However....
...I just picked up one of these for £460 new at a vat free event in a store. Bloody lovely bit of kit.

I have that Tag (with the blue dial instead of black), and my next purchase will be that exact Sinn!
I think the newer Tag F1s have a more timeless quality about them, and as you say - I don't mind it being a quartz.
That said, I do like the old F1s as well. If only they had made a bigger one, I'd have it.

Sounds like you really want the TAG and should therefore go for that.
FYI - the four year service thing is not a hard and fast rule - the rule is that if it is keeping decent time, don't take the back off.
Remember the TAG will need a battery every now and then - might be a couple of quid from the Watch Doctor, more expensive if you want to insure that it retains its level of water protection and a lot if you are anal and want it sent away to TAG to be done.
