Watches as an investment?
Discussion
I have a fair amount of cash in various savings accounts and whilst it's zero-risk it's obviously only pulling in around 3.5% pre-tax as I want it fairly readily accessible.
I've got a couple of Rolex watches and I always viewed them as worth keeping until I'm absolutely forced to sell them, as Rolex watches always seem to be in demand, and thanks to the annual Rolex price rise and the relatively timeless nature of the watches, they seem to appreciate in value as well as being a bit more fun than a number on a balance sheet.
Any views?

Timeless nature of watches? I'd get that repaired soonest!
I suspect that like cars, watches do not become "investments" until a pretty rarefied level is attained.
Also like cars, watches are a fun thing to spend money on, and interesting examples of both will at least lose value slower than dull examples of both.
