Any suggestions gents? My dad wants a watch for xmas, happy to spend up to £250. He wants one with a clear, dark face, a leather or fabric strap and not too chunky. Any ideas plese?

he said 250, not 75. He can get something better (even though I'm a fan-and an owner).

Not too chunky
If your forearms are such that a Monster is "not too chunky" I prolly shouldn't be submitting this post.

Then again, I'm not scared.

Some of them do go for a bit more. You seen the new prices of the Astroavias? nuts

CWC or Precista I'd say. Or how about one of the Hamilton Field watches?

I don't know whether to think MkII watches are bogus or homage, they have copied military watch designs from the 70's onwards (Benrus, Blancpain FF, Glycine etc) and in some cases make them with better features. The only one in the price range is a Rolex-a-like though, so I'll shut up now....
