with my Sea-Dweller, XXX
Been together 20 months now, and has been on my wrist 24/7 but have been searching for a thick leather strap to change it's character. Been looking around the www but not the same as viewing for real, but at last this morning found a Hirsch strap from Ernest Jones that is just right for me and only £30 too. Feels & looks amazing, just had to share with fellow watch enthusiasts.

Looked OK, but I just love it on the bracelet

PM toshi on here, he makes straps like that (probably better) in any colour combo, many types of leather, and gives a pretty decent warranty

and it's nowhere near as wrong as putting a £3k Rolex on a £10 Nato

On the flip side, a NATO does stop your watch dropping off if a springbar fails, however often that happens...

A GGB looks a tad more sturdy than a NATO for a tool sort of watch:





(Ideally I'd redesign the buckle & match it to the watch finish - matt or low-lite - and put some sort of keeper on it too, but maybe later in the year).


I've put my Explorer on a Toshi but wouldn't bother with a NATO - it doesn't seem to go well.

But then again, I wouldn't put a watch you get free with 10 litres of petrol on a "NATO".
