Which watch for £2-3k?
Discussion
Been lurking for a while now and this is my first post
Was reading this forum a couple of weeks ago and have now decided to take the plunge and buy my first serious watch. I have a budget of about £2-3k but the myriad of watches is starting to make my head ache. My watch criteria:
1 Chronograph
2 Good timekeeping (obviusly)
3 Will be a daily wearer and as I work in a warehouse environment must be able to take knocks.
4 Uncommon
5 Beautiful but manly to look at although not 'in your face' looks.
I have a few in mind such as the Seiko Ananta Chrono, Omega Alaska Ltd Ed, but would like suggestions from those with more knowledge. TIA.

Tag and Omega loose their money.
£2-£3k is easy....Rolex Submariner. No contest.
www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk and pick up a used one.

Thanks, Sinn looks lovely but a bit too formal for me (I wear 3/4 combat shorts and t-shirts year round). Do Graham watches hold their value? Seen this and am quite tempted.....

I am not a big fan of Graham watches but that's my personal opinion. I would probably go for this:
http://www.watches.co.uk/watch.php?wid=9149S
Only because it is a limited edition and it appears to have been made in very small numbers. This can usually help it's resale value.
Problem with Graham watches:
Do not expect watch enthusiasts to share the same passion as yourself.

You'll definitely want a sapphire crystal, unless you spend a lot of time rummaging in bins full of diamonds, you'll never scratch it.
Graham- They are big.. very big, and look like some sort of Ben 10 Christmas cracker gift.
Ultimately it's your choice, but it will attract a lot of attention and not in an admiration way.
The IWC aquatimer is pretty good, and pretty famous too, been in a couple of films

With an ice hardened case, sapphire crystal and being very rare a Damasko DC66 (black dial) or 67 would be a good fit - circa £1,700 brand new if you can get one. Better availability second hand.1 Chronograph

Alternatively a Sinn 757 has a tegimented case & bracelet so very tough

More easily available & again well within budget.
