Stowa Marine Original - Pics Please!
Discussion
Getting married in April and since I've been eyeing up a Stowa MO with brown nappa + deployment buckle for some time now the future mrs would like to get me one as a wedding present.
Anyone got pics that shpow the deployment buckle.
Also, any suggestions for watches of similar style (and price!) before I commit to the Stowa.

I don't "get" Stowa. Can someone explain? I mean, I like Sinns and IWCs but Stowas seem to be missing something for me.
]I don't think it's something that you can explain, you either like them or you don't.
For me it was the clean face, subtle details like the blue hands and the dressed movement.

For me they offer the heritage and quality of the German quality watchmakers, but at considerably less than the price of a Portugese or a Dornbleuth. I also think that whilst there's a reasonable amount of competition at a similar price point for Sinn, particularly with the 556/756/856 and 7 models (Damasko etc), there genuinely doesn't seem to be much in the way of white faced marine timers like the Portugese/Dornbleuth at the same price point as the MO. Yes, Stowa uses a Unitas 6498 rather than an in-house movement, and yes there's a great deal of difference in dial finish between the MO and the Dornbleuth/Portugese, but the MO represents great value for a sub-EUR1000 watch. IMHO of course. An experiment; I'd like to try and get a roll call of Stowa MO owners - either already owned or have placed an order. Let's see how we get on.
I might email Stowa to see if they're aware of just how many of us there are here.
1. Stuart. MO, polished case, white Arabic face. Deployant, alligator.

You have to like their style certainly and if you don't then you don't. The MO is a very traditional marine chronometer style of course, and has become a fairly untouchable classic at the price point in my view. Some of their sport watch designs are not to my taste at all but the MO I loved and I'm frequently tempted by their Flieger, but I have too many black dialled watches as it is.
Still not really sure why I sold the MO, but I made a good profit on it so ...
