Hmm having just ordered a portuguese auto over a chrono because I want a date, I'm now wondering if the yacht club would have been a better call as it has date and would expect it is cheaper. Find the yachting link a little twee though so think I'll be happy with my decision.

Any prices announced yet?

Just my 2cents, but it doesn't work for me. The Portuguses Chrono 3714** is almost perfect in proportion/finish as a gentlemans watch, for you want a Yachting watch they should've done another limited edition Aquatimer....

The classic Portuguese chrono is indeed a lovely watch, but those chrono pushers always look a bit spindly to me.

The Yacht Club version's chunkier looks are a winner for me.

Much as I love IWC watches, can someone please explain to me how a model named "Yacht Club" is only waterproof to 6 bar? Or is it for model fanatics who sail their yacht in the bath?

I think its a winner, looks great and really clever sub dial arrangement as the chrono reads just like a normal pair or watch hands. My only negative comment is the same one I could apply to the entire IWC collection these days, why so blooming huge? IWC used to stand for refined understated class but now everything new is 44 mm or 45mm etc.

Its not a divers watch, and that should be adequate for a swim etc. Don't see the problem.
