There are some Eco-Drive watches I really like but way out of my budget. This one I do like, but it's not my favourite design.

But at this reduced price, is it worth getting?

What sort of budget do you have in mind for the one you'd really like, I'd be inclined to hold on another few months and go for something you do want rather than spending less on something you'll probably want to change out later anyway.

I'd wait. They are forever rotating deals on the Eco-drive range.

This is more the style I like.

I wasn't really after a watch, just saw this deal and thought it looked good. But yes I should probably wait till I can get one similar to the above.

According to a thread on WUS, www.creationwatches.com is a trustworthy site, but it is worth noting that the company is based in Singapore. Their website has that same black Skyhawk for £156 ... http://www.creationwatches.com/products/citizen-pr...

smile

Otherwise I'd also save and get what you want - There is no point spending cash that could go towards your desired watch on something that will suffice. You'll only pine after the Skyhawk later in the year!

I had one of those briefly and it is really heavy. Another problem for me was the integrated bracelet. I went for the radio controlled skyhawk in the end as it's pure geek and completely unnecessary and absolutely huge!

I just wonder... in all honesty... any fighter pilots actually use all that crap on the watch? It's a fking mess.

I've got 4 eco drive watches including that one. I don't think it's heavy, it's a very nice watch, good quality and a very comfortable (for me) strap. It feels much nicer than other eco drives, the black one Argos sell feels very cheap and light. Only thing I don't like on the one you linked is the chrome detailing (the circles)on the face, but that's not a real issue. For £69.99 I'd say it's excellent value.

"Wait... wait... keep this mother steady and I'll time the afterburn. Ok, that's steady, how did you get it this steady?"
"We're parked in the hangar."

It's as pointless as tachymeters. Who the hell uses a tachymeter? Do you wonder what speed you're doing and think, I'll look down at my watch's finely graded scale for 60 seconds while driving along this motorway.
