Hi,
Just had my three-year-old Louis Vuitton Tambour Automatic serviced and when I got it home I shook my wrist and heard a sound from the watch which I've not noticed previously.
Putting it to my ear and repeating it, it sounds not like something is loose, but more like the whole mechanism is moving, as though spring loaded. Does this sound normal? Maybe I'd just not noticed it before...

It could be a couple of things:

1) The movement is loose

2) It has a Valjoux 7750 movement fitted and what you are experiencing is the classic 7750 'rotor wobble'.

Can't say I've ever seen a LV watch up close. Is it a chronograph?

It certainly seems like a wobble. All I know about the movement is that the LV sales guy said it had a ETA movement.
It isn't a chronograph, but does have a second timezone hand...

I can't say I feel a wobble on any of my ETA movements but I can hear some of them The thin watches mostly.

it does sound ratly as if something is loose inside but I belive that is normal.

As above Val movements do wobble ( i like it like that )

I can hear the rotor spinning in my Seamaster, not sure if that is a bad thing or not to be honest.

Can hear what I presume is the rotor on my Speedmaster Auto Chronograph too, so I doubt it is anything to worry about smile

My Porsche Design PO11 makes a right old rattle and roll noise...seems all OK however. Might put me off buying one of their cars, though!
