My Getat Homage has arrived!
Discussion
Posted this on TZ too, but I think there's a couple on here with them, and I'm sure people may be interested
My Getat has finally arrived. Very happy with it, a bargain at around £60
I foolishly didn't spec a display back, but other than that I think it's great. If I was getting another one (which I may well do! ) I would probably go for the sterile look, as this seems a little too close for comfort to the real thing. It feels well put together, nice and heavy and I think the strap is great
I chose the black face, automatic date movement
Brushed stainless steel case
seal brown strap with white stitching
Here's a few quick pics that turned out quite nicely
Bear in mind I haven't taken the protective plastic from the crystal or the back so it may look a bit dodgy in the photos

Without getting into the whole 'homage' thang, why don't they put 'Getat' on the watch dial and make it their own lovely watch, great value, vintage design, similar to the well known one but marked with the actual maker.
Not flaming, just pondering. There may be a good reason but I'm not au fait with this particular brand/design.

I had a sterile one for a larf, flipped it soon after. The timekeeping on mine was also excellent, I think Tat regulates each one he makes. What was the delivery time on yours, I hear he's snowed under ? Also, what was on the customs declaration for postage ? Mine was $2 plastic toy or something daft.

I ordered mine in March, and got it less than ten days later. The declaration for customs seems to have been "fart", or "f
k" or some other four letter word beginning with a huge "F".Mr MoJo said:
Sorry, but the word 'homage' should be replaced with the word 'fake'. Just my 2p's worth.
Nice looking watch though, as it would be as a Pam replica.
... is the general feeling about this design, most other websites that rave about 'Homages' are so twitchy about 'MM', you cannot even utter it exists, let alone post a picture, or else live in fear of the Italian Navy knocking on your door or coming up through the U bend.Nice looking watch though, as it would be as a Pam replica.

How do you go about the order? Do you get the separate parts into your basket and they build it for you or do you order a complete watch? Reason is, I'm rather taken with these and fancy trying the size out. I like the exact combo you have but without the date and I can't see where to order it with the seal brown strap..?

You can order a complete watch if it's shown, or a list of parts. If you want something not listed (the fancy strap on a particular watch, for example), then you can drop Tat an email, explaining what you want. He's very good.Edited by Doofus on Sunday 28th March 16:31

Cheers Doofus..!!
What most seem to do is just send an email with exactly what you want. Take a look at the parts on there, or the watches on the site and customize it yourself!
I saw a similar one to mine on the site, but wanted the brushed case not polished, black face and the custom strap
Within reason he can probably do whatever you want so it's worth asking. Bear in mind it may take a day or so to reply to your email
As for the delivery, mine took around a month altogether. But he did say he was pretty busy at the time

Nice fake
I would play devils advocate and say 95% of the pleasure for 2.5% of the price.Given that the vast majority of dive watches sold never go diving. I don't see the lack of 200m water resistance to be a real issue for most.
I would also say that new and recent Panerai watches sold are hommages in themselves, there are no genuine Panerai watches made any longer,
the only genuine ones are the original manufactured/assembled in Italy.
So if you are happy to pay £2,500+ for your hommage, good for you.
