My old watch.......

I am looking for some information on my old watch:



All I know is that it was made in the GDR and was my grandfathers, its doesn't appear to be worth much (if anything) and frankly doesn't keep time all that well, I am just curious as to how it ended up in Reading Berkshire of all places.
