Wandered past the Omega shop on the Champs Elysee last night and was admiring some of the finery in the window when I had to do a double-take - a Calibre 8501 for 88,300 Euros!!.
Not really that into watches so am guessing that this must be some kind of limited edition? I bet they don't sell many of those!
Got a pic on my phone but can't upload it out here - will have to wait until I get back tomorrow.

Ah, so the 8501 refers to the movement? Told you I didn't know much about watches
It's not that one - it looks like it has a dial within the dial with some more (smaller) hands.
Can't find it on the Omega website though??
Hehe!

The Omega website is: www.omegawatches.comYou can use the 'watchfinder' feature to narrow down the search to all watches that incorporate the 8501 movement
How many dials were on the watch face itself?ETA: Direct link to the 'watchfinder' feature: http://www.omegawatches.com/watchfinder

Means nothing to me!
Just seems a ridiculous price for a watch.
I was in Galeries Lafayette last week and saw a rather nice Bell & Ross square jobbie but baulked at the €2,100 asking price. Maybe if it had been a bit cheaper.......
Feh, tis but a trifle.

Look here. Actual expensive watches.

The De Ville Hour Vision 18K has the 8501 calibre, which I believe is very similar to the 8500 calibre, albeit the rotor and bridge are 18K gold ... However the price of 88,000Euros seems a little steep!
ETA: Was it this?

My fave current watch, that. Would be a push for me to afford it even in steel, though.pincher said:
