I want to get into the nice watch scene, but i havent the foggiest at present.
Since i was fairly young i have been a fan of tag heuers, but in the way of GOOD watches i dont know if TAG are, or if they are just for builders and air hostesses!
Anyone shed any light on them for me? and perhaps suggest some things around 1000gbp?
Thanks guys!

They're not that well-respected in watch enthusiast circles but outside of them... well... what do your friends or family think of them? (Assuming said friends or family aren't watch enthusiasts.)
ETA: in context, it would mean it'd be harder to sell at a decent price at a dealer or on specialist forums (watch variety not bondage variety) but maybe on ebay, gumtree or PH classifieds, you might get a nicer price when you want to sell it on.

I have two. They were my first major watch spends and was more impulse than anything else. Since getting more into watches I'm looking at other watches but they are nice and haven't had any issues so far.
My first "proper watch" purchase as well, think they are a good introduction to better quality watches, only problem is they open the flood gates and then you need to think of even more excuses to the misses why you need another watch. Edited by Dr Phibes on Thursday 27th May 13:33

LOL - Same here too !I have two Tag's also and love them both. The first was my first "big" watch purchase when I got my first salary as a contractor. The second a gift from my wife for our wedding.

Likewise - my first 'proper' brand of watch. Now I'm sure you can pay less (and no doubt considerably more) for a 'better' watch brand, but let's be fair nothing mechanical is going to be as accurate as a cheap as chips digital watch… So in my humble opinion, if you like the design and it keeps pretty good time, then stick it on your wrist and enjoy it!
My first Tag was a medium sized Kirium, then moved onto a Link Calibre 36 like this one:

Then my good lady bought me this for my 40th birthday and it hasn't been of my wrist since!

…In fact I love it so much, I've just had some stripes added to my Boxster for a charity driving event in August
