I fancy a watch to wear when I am going to get mucky and dirty (think Le Mans and Rally GB) to save destroying my Speedmaster Pro.

I quite fancied a Suunto Core All Black for the storm warnings which may be useful on the Rally, I also quite like Trasers, is there anything else anyone recommends?

Was going to say Monster or G-Shock depending on what "look" you are after.

I've got my eye on one of these for the same purpose.

Monster then, or one of the "mini-monsters"?

One of these, looks great, you'll die before you hurt it and it weighs nothing, I have one and it is my favourate knocking about watch.

I do have a Monster as well, I warn you they are very heavy.

It would look too chunky. The carabiner is quite big.

Another vote for a Monster. I've got an Orange one on the rubber strap. Lovely watch, and it feels almost indestructable. Best lume I've ever seen too!

Just how pissed do you get? I just wear one of my chrono's to Le Mans so if you want to go rugged, but still wear something decent how about something like

Tegimented case & bracelet, decent WR + sapphire crystal

or

Ice hardened case, decent WR + sapphire crystal

or

Suunto's are great watches, I've been very happy with mine and it's taken a fair old beating too. That being said, I have to agree with Mssr Ninja, you just can't beat a G-shock. Well, you can, repeatedly, but you'll break your hands before you break the watch hehe

There's some pretty nice looking ones about, not all luminous plastic.

I just got the SKX007J from them for knocking about in and working on the car. Had to have a rethink about wearing my Omega Speedmaster, which I've worn daily for any activity for 8 years when I scratched the crystal playing in the engine.

Another vote for the Sinn here. OK, I don't choose to wear it when I'm knife fighting or crocodile wrestling, but it seems to be all but bulletproof for most other situations. I'm the third owner of mine, and yet it looks absolutely brand new. It lives on a NATO strap and I love it...

Are we not comparing fish with fowl here? You can get about 10 monsters for the price of a U1. As said, either digital or anologue to choice, but I swear by my Monster as value for money - and it's more accurate than my Spitfire too! I wouldn't go for the 007 Seiko though - a bit small compared to a Monster.

I tried a Suunto on yesterday and was a bit unimpressed, it felt very very light which I am not used to.

Seiko Monster looks like it could be a winner, any recommendations as to where to buy them?

I think it's rkwatchhouse on eBay that comes highly recommended?
I'm thinking of buying one too so I'll take a look today...
