I'm not sure why I need to know what a bunch of people I've not met think, but you seem to be knowledgable, (opinionated) people, so tell me anyway. smile

I've decided I need a desk diver to go with my rag tag collection of tinsel, and I'm down to a choice of two. Magrette Moana Pacific Diver or Prometheus Ocean Diver Day/Date.

I know what I think, and there's good and less good in each, but where do you stand? Feel free to offer an alternative, but these two are around the €400 mark, so that's as much as I intend to spend.

TIA

I can't say that I have ever heard of either, but the Moana Pacific Diver looks really nice.

At that price I'd also look at the Tissot prs516 auto.

Happy shopping!

I do like the look of that Tissot, but I don't want another GMT bezel...

Out of those 2 i'd go for the Magrette. Like the classic no frills look. Would look even better on the black rubber strap.

Like the Regattare Moana Pacific as well. Very Panerai-esque!

I couldn't buy anything from Magrette.

Just read the "our storey" section of their website & try not to puke.

The "designs" are mostly Anonimo (with some Panerai) knock off's too.

The Prometheus is a nice looking watch, but check out the Boschette Cave Dweller & Dievas Vortex as better alternatives.

Wilst I like the look of the cave dweller, it's just too big. And I can't find a black face, blue hands on their webshop...

The Vortex is a bit too Sinn for me, and it's over budget. Don't get me wrong, I love the Sinn look, but if I'm going for a looey-likey, then the Magrette also fits that bill.

Is the Benarus Moray II a better alternative to the Magrette? I really like the retro style of the Magrette, and the Benarus uses the same case.

Or a Halios Bluering?

Helson Shark Diver may be another one to consider, although the ETA versions push the budget rather! good hunting!

I like the first one.
I don't like the second one.
