I think I have gone blind.

eek

EDIT: This looks like I was slating the Monacos, I wasn't more the lack of thread title.

Personally not my cup of tea, not a fan of square watches. So, "I'm oot". I know there will be others who can, just would be easier with a title.

I see you are using the "Softly softly, catchy monkey" school of thread titles for this one wink

I've just bought the blue one, classis colours and my first 'proper' watch and is for special occasions only. They are beautiful things and a proper design classic.

With hardly any negotiation at all Goldsmiths offered me 15% off any Tag in stock when I was out shopping yesterday, they also offered to get any Tag in from their other stores the next day.

I really like the Monaco, particuarly this -

I didn't take them up on it in the end and bought a Breitling from a local independant jeweller who was offering just over 15%.

I've seen one with a blue face "in the wild" and thought it looked good. I wouldn't pay £3.5k for it though. Because:
It's a Tag, in my book they are a brand and not a watch maker
It uses the 7750 movement, which is very good movement, that can be had in sub £1k watches. This being a Tag the finish on it will not be much if at all better than those watches.

I've had mine a while (blue face) and it's a truly lovely thing. I'd wanted one for years, and it comes out for special occasions.

A bit about goldsmiths...

My missues bought it from Goldsmiths for me, and was the last one that they had at the time on the blue face. However on closer inspection it had been worn as the strap was worn, and the case was scratched all over the place. They offered to polish it out as they couldn't get another, but I wasn't happy and so got the money back.

I then phoned the jeweller I bought my misses engagement ring from and explained the situation. I asked if they would price match what I'd paid (and dropped a bit off that price) and they did it no questions asked.

The Tag shop in Bisceter have both the black and blue faces for sale at £2100 and 2400 I think, I was there at the weekend.

Black wasn't on the aligator strap, and was the cheaper one. Let us know how you get on, it gets a lot of attention from people when I wear mine (partly why I don't wear it daily now).
