Gents,

Firstly, sorry I am not very good with forum language but I think this forums is seen as an information source as well as a discussion forum. Would it not be suitable to have some threads that are always at the top of the forum for different price brackets. I have seen loads of threads starting in a similar way to recommend me a watch etc for x amount of money. Happily everyone on here takes time to contribute what they think is best, but if we had a few threads like:
Sub 500
500-1000
1000-2500
2500-4000
4000+

Would that not be a useful resource for all of us and those looking to purchase a new piece?

Just an idea.

There is the potential that such threads could become rather confusing to read and navigate through, in that multiple replies to multiple requests will not make sense if the poster has not quoted correctly. Also, conversations will be all over the place, as prospective buyers will have different criteria that they are after e.g. sports, dress, chrono, movement type, reason for purchase etc

I'm not knocking your idea, but I think there would need to be more traffic on these pages for your idea to go ahead. If traffic did increase, then perhaps the Watch Forum could split into 'General Chat' and 'What Watch?' sub-forums smile

...or a one stop shop sticky wiki for the above plus websites/retailers?

Gets my vote, but sub 500 is a bit vague.0-100, 100-250, 250-500, 500-1000, 1000-3000, 3000+ is more like it methinks.

Mind you, that's going to hog half of the 'front page'.

You could all stop waffling on about expensive nice watches and just have stickies for folk like me who can't save for a decent piece and just buy tat nonstop.

Making the post with links to good second hand dealers a sticky would be good.

Yes, that's probably a better idea. Sticky threads with trusted dealers/sources that I think would help a lot of users.

There's a few threads like that already floating off into the darker reaches of page 4/5.
