I've had this trusty TAG 1500 on my wrist for the last 17 years. I'd love something new now and would like something like a Breitling but fear would look way out of place on my wrist.

Happy to pay anything up to £3-5K (but would prefer under £2K ideally).

So..for a small wristed chap (no smirking at the back!!) what would people recommend.

IWC Mark XVI is 39mm
Rolex Submariner is 40mm
Omega speedmaster is 42mm
Breitling do a 38mm Superocean heritage

Whoops sorry, only read the 3-3.5k part.
Omega Seamaster is 41mm

What size is your wrist and current watch?

Mt wrist is about 17cm circumference. The TAG is approx 4cm diameter and just under 1com deep.

My wrist is about 6.5 inches (so slightly bigger than yours) and is fine with a 42mm case, I'm wearing a 46mm watch today and it's a bit big but not terrible.

Most watches nowadays are at least available in 42mm or under so you aren't really limited.

I have small wrists. I dont think you are limited. I was looking at the Tag GC rs and then some Breitlings. The large Heritage (black dial) which didnt really grab my attention in the window and looks huge looked great on my wrist. I've decided on the skyracer for now maybe the Heritage one day

The entry level Breitling Colts are around 40mm. Very suitable for a small wrist.

After a day or two they all wear better than you may expect. I have 17.5cm wrist and comfortably wear my SMPO daily. It feels a little odd when you try it on in the shop but you very soon get used to it.

Have you seen the 'Seiko 5' thread? They're about 37mm.
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/xforums/topic.asp?h=0...

They come in a variety of colours, and the strap isn't that pleasing. But, that TAG isn't exactly a thing of beauty, and the change from £3k would buy you a whole weekend of coke and strippers...

Never considered Omega before (no real reason, limited knowledge probably) but that looks rather lovely!

Have a look at mid-sized Omega Seamasters, too.

(Pic stolen from another site.)

Oh, my Breitling Colt:

36mm IIRC.

Actually that reminds me, I have one of the re-issued Carreras in a drawer (search for CS3111.BC0726 and you'll see it) it's definitely a small watch and is dwarfed by my speedy in terms of weight and size.

Don't know if they're still easy to get hold of though.

I have a 7" wrist and feel uncomfortable with anything above 39mm. I have tried a Rolex sub, 40mm, and it just feels too big. I have an Ebel at 34mm and a Seamaster mid-size which is just about perfect at 36.2mm. Now considering IWC Spitfire MkXVI which is 39mm. Judging by the size of what's in jewellers windows large is definitely the trend though.

My G-Shock AWG-101 feels small and dainty after the PO.
