Just noticed the message on the front of the Seiya site regarding Seiko UK http://www.seiyajapan.com/

It's a shame when stuff like this happens, as he is only servicing a tiny slice of the market with some really intersting watches, and selling watches that Seiko UK don't import themselves anyway. One of the few places where I could source a Spring Drive when my 6 numbers come up. I've bought from Seiya in the past, when exchange rates were more favourable, and had great service.

If Higuchi find themselves on the Seiko UK radar they will most likely receive a similar letter.

Are companies actually allowed to restrict supply and prevent people from importing things that can't be bought locally?

I think so- didn't Play.com or suchlike get busted for buying albums in Taiwan or Vietnam or suchlike?

Of course if such items are used, I don't see what they can do about it.
