I've been looking at quite a few different used Monacos of late and have notice that there are subtle differences (barring the face itself) between some of the models.

The chrono model is obviously the most appealing but I wondered if someone could explain the fundimental differences between the "standard", the calibre 12, and the calibre 36?

Thanks

hi
the tag monacos are confussing. I got the Gulf one from http://www.motoring-man-boutique.co.uk/
the young gut there specialises in the Monaco`s and will probably be able to answer any questions.
Got the watch just wish I had the McQueen looks.

I have the earlier white face version , just had it serviced , new glass , scratches removed from the body ,. polished , strap cleaned ,was sent back to Tag Switzerland at a cost of 250

however it now looks brand new , the dealer offered to trade it for the later version .......no chance
prefer it in white

I've also got the white version; I could read in to your comment that the dealer was keen to get his hands on it specifically, did you get the feeling that there is much/any demand for the white version or was he just looking for a part ex sale?

If you decide to buy a Monaco be very wary of Ebay as I know one chap that was sold a fake that looked very genuine!

I think he had a buyer who wanted the white version , he was really trying very hard to sell me the black face version , however he did give me a written valuation of 3400 for insurance purposes which was good as mine only cost 2200 from the same dealer back in 2006

hi
just chatted to the young man at http://www.motoring-man-boutique.co.uk/ he was a little concerned that the dealer thread was about him. He has never been offered a white face and only deals in new watches.
