Confess! The watches you love but shouldn't thread
Discussion
OK, I'll happily admit I have quite an eclectic / off the wall / lack of taste [depending on who you ask] sometimes, not least when it comes to watches. I've got a few 'normal' and tasteful pieces, but I've also got several oddities, from luminous G-shocks to a massive TW Steel, phantom black Bell & Ross, and so on.
This thread serves as a place you can confess your sins, whether you own it or simply like it post it up here and don't worry about making people recoil in horror. Tell your fellow sufferers what watches have you seen or bought and thought "I really like that, but imagine the grief I'd get for wearing it!" and rejoice in getting it off your chest
To get us started I'm currently loving the Jacob & Co JC1. I'm even giving serious thought to buying one

I make no apologies for it, I love it

Well it would fit in with your B&R and TW Steel though. Now, I like a domed crystal but that's taking things a bit far...
One of the first 1000m watches was the Sandoz Typhoon, which bears some resemblance.

The more modern Swiss Watch:

and Kobold:

The Sandoz doesn't count as a 'shouldn't love' though, I think it's got stacks of character...and who is it here that's got the Corum Bat watch...?

Are domed crystals uncool? Ooooppps… two of my watches have crystals more domed than the Kobold in your pics (and they're both plain, unassuming chronographs - the DIAPAL Sinn and the Breguet). The Breguet has more of a dome than the Sinn but they're both getting towards the more extreme end of your list…<snip>
And I really love the domed crystals - they're easier to keep clean too

Just leaving this here (all €120,000 of it)

I took one look at that and fell in love with it. Did a quick google and found it was 52mm in diameter, and promptly fell out of love again

I love the design and detailing, but BRM seem to have a bunch of recased ETA watches that are perfectly faked by the usual suspects (the genuine watches being overpriced but in the 'attainable' bracket), and then a bunch of similar-looking watches with their own movements and insane prices. This isn't a huge problem (apart from meaning that I won't be able to afford one
) but the apparent fondness of huge physical size *is* - the 38mm watch is a lady's model and the smallest man's watch is 41mm (which is a VJ7750-type chrono and *does* appeal, so that's one of my admissions for this thread
) - the rest start at 44 but are 48, 50, 52 mm diameter - they're wristclocks.Bespoke movements are all well and good but if you need a 50mm case to put it in, you're a clockmaker, not a watchmaker, no?

Anyway my watch I shouldn't love - any of the Franck Muller Aeternitas Mega range. FM watches in his 'big' case size are ridiculous in the first place but when there are that many complications crammed in, it's simply beyond nonsensical. Some of the pushers are usable, the rest require a pin-piece to actuate them. I wonder if the strap has a recess built in to carry the required pin-push tool?
The weird thing is that Franck Muller Casablanca watches wear *really* nicely on the wrist… that curvy 'curvex' shape disguises the size and the smaller models are *really* elegant… even the 8880 size (which is silly) feels just about wearable, whereas the smaller versions fit even my skinny wrists. The Aeternitas Mega watches *won't* though…
This one's the Mega 4… FM made a Mega 1 (chimes and tourbillon), Mega 2 (double flyback chrono and tourbillon), and a Mega 3 (1000-year perpetual calendar, two additional timezones and tourbillon). Not enough, the Mega 4 basically contains all of 'em. One presumes that whilst the Mega 4 contains all of the aforementioned complications, it sticks to the single tourbillon and doesn't have 3 of them just to be silly. That's Greubel-Forsey's turf, anyway

Waiting for someone to mention Graham .... anyone ?
Ok, OK, I'll take the bait...
Some of their Silverstone range isn't too OTT and I quite like this Chronofighter at a modest 46mm

) No - I like domed crystals, quite a lot actually. This probably means that they are 'uncool' though, as I'm an old fart.
