Hi Guys.
I plan to make a purchase of a Omega Planet Ocean within the next few weeks. I have decided on the fact I want a large full size one with the stainless steel
strap and the orange numerals.
However, I carnt decide on the bezel colour. The orange bezel seams to be the one the watch was 'designed' with and the colour every one knows, but the black bezel
has a certain 'smart sharp' look.
Should I ever need to sell it (not that I am planning too) will one be more desiable than the other? If I buy the 'wrong' one can I swop the bezel?

What is your thoughts folks.....?

Thanks

Orange looks a little OTT IMO. I have the black bezel with orange numbers and it looks very smart

I should imagine it's an easy enough job for a competent watch repairer.

Buy the Black one then order an orange bezel from Omega and just have it swapped when you want.

Also if undecided on leather or s/steel bracelet, order s/steel on it and again order leather from Omega as the steel bracelets are very expensive from Omega individually.

Black bezel is classier.

Haggle hard if buying brand new.

....Your comments are good to hear, I think I am going off the orange bezzel.
The strap will certainly be stainless steel. I think the rubber and the leather
strap look great when new, but dont age well.

The best price I have been quoted is £1975.00 against a retail price of £2380.00

Shame you missed out on the 25% off and interest free credit at beaverbrooks that was posted over on TZ-UK. I ordered a 42mm PO with orange bezel. I too was undecieded on bezel colour, but as you can swap them over, it shouldn't matter too much hopefully.

I do have other watches to wear, but the Omega will be my daily for the most part! smile

i have a planet ocean chrono with the orange bezel and love it.
as a previous poster touched on, if it was an everyday watch, it may be a bit much. i have other watches and rotate wearing them so i dont wear it everyday, and already had a black speedmaster so black was not a consideration.
the watch does stand out when wearing it, and you do see others checking it out and even asking about it, which is nice!

Speak to Dom H, he has sorted out lots of people on here with PO's, I reckon he could beat your best quote.

I was torn between the black bezel and orange bezel, ended up with the black and don't regret it one bit, for me it was a must have in my little collection.

Black bezel here as well, very pleased with it.

I found that in the January sales I was able to go around lots of high street shops and several would go to 20% discount with a free service thrown in.

Good luck.

I've got the all black 42mm, with bracelet and rubber strap. Got it in 2009 and I'm still very happy with it. Although the new version with applied numbers and red Seamaster does look appealing.

Prior to buying it, I tried on the XL (45mm), and it felt too big and plain. The PO Chrono suits the large size better, IMO.

I have a friend with the orange (aka Pumpkin) Chrono & bracelet: looks good, but isn't very subtle! I notice that from the likes of Blowers etc., the all-blacks sell on quicker.

I've got a 45mm non chrono orange bezel and I love it! Not too flash, I think the orange bezel and orange numbers suit it, but I have got a few other watches so don't wear it for every occasion.

Buy a used mint condition used one. You'll only pay £1300.
