Saw this advertised in Octane this month. Normally I can't stand RW watches (based purely on some bouncer-type plonkers that I know locally that wear them, and actively show them off...), but this one caught my eye. Thoughts?

I tried this one on a couple of weeks back, felt great on and seemed to be well made though TBH I can't comment on the overall quality of their watches, percieved or otherwise. Decided to buy a different watch though only because this one was over my budget.

Ive got that exact model, Freelancer Chronograph, I love it, 42mm brushed case with polished bezel, automatic movement, sapphire cystal front and back (double AR coating on the front). Looks beautiful and feels very well made. About £1700 now I think.

It's OK, but (call me prejudiced) not £1,700 or anywhere close, of OK

It's pretty complicated, though. Watchfinder.co.uk would knock 20% off rrp I would imagine, as they do with most of their stock.

Edit - Valjoux 7750 I assume?

Retail Price £ 1,750.00

Our Price £ 1,150.00

That's a bit more like it, but it will still be worth only £500 after a years wear.

At just over £1,000 if it has to be brand new, why not have a look at the likes of the Sinn 856 or 103's at

http://www.jurawatches.co.uk/

or a U1

I've seen some nice RW watches and would possibly get one in the future. The trouble is I tend to see many nicer ones by other companies that are higher up the want list.
