Whats this worth?

Hi,

Does anybody have any idea of the value of my Omega Seamaster? Its a midsize (36mm) quartz Seamaster with a blue face. I purchased it brand new from an authorised dealer in July 2002. It had a new battery / inspection last year. It is in excellent condition with no scratches to the glass face and has been absolutley faultless since I've owned it. It comes with all the original boxes and papers. I've contacted Blowers and they aren't interested in buying it just yet. Any idea on its worth?

No-one who's into the "fashion" side of watches wants a mid-size at the moment, and no-one who's into collecting or appreciation of fine watches wants a quartz.
I would also wager that neither want an 8 year old piece. I'd say its value has not quite hit rock bottom yet, but it's a long way from appreciating in value too...

It's a shame though, because it's not a bad looking watch.

I sold mine on Ebay for £1000 last year, was nearly 3 years old.
Mid sized quartz, £500 ish?

I would say that the mid size quartz is probably around 3-400. I know its low. I sold my mid sized auto for about 600 last year sometime.

Ha ha....completely wrong infact. I've been on Pistonheads for years but when I just recently came back from a six month deployment my old login details didn't work. I assume they had expired and just re-registered. I can certainly understand your scepticism as it would have been my first thought as well.

Thanks for the replies guys but it sold instantly. It is a lovely watch though. I've just been comparing it with my new full size automatic Seamaster and the design hasn't changed at all in at least the last 8yrs. I suppose its what you would call a timeless design.
