I am looking for suggestions, as the title suggests. By offbeat, I mean, not an Omega Constellation. What else is out there for this kind of price? Preferably, on the high street, rather than in obscure online shops, but hey, I am open to suggestions!
You don't see Ball or Hamilton much but they're out there, have a look at the Conductor series for Ball and the Jazzmaster series for Hamilton, or maybe even the Venturas - pretty sure that these will come under budget as well.
