Hi Guys

I thought I would share my latest purchase, an original Casio Jogging from around 1984 which I bought on eBay from a guy in California.

I have been looking for one for ages. I used to have one back when I was a lad, but somehow managed to lose it.

It's a great watch in good condition, and it all works, including the animated running man and the countdown timer which made me think I was James Bond when I was young, as it is reminiscent of the feature on the Seiko in Octopussy.

In short, I love it.

If you can find that Argos 1985 thread, that watch is sold in that catalogue!

Come on, full story, how much ?

I have a NOS Seiko in my eBay watch list (watch list is a very apt name methinks) £130 it is. Can't bring myself to do it, I know the price is right though.

Thanks guys.

Wow - thanks for the heads up on the Argos catalogue! A bit sad, but I used to know the watch pages off by heart when I was a lad.

Here is the page the watch is on:

It was around £30 including delivery from California. It's not in perfect ccondition, but has a nice patina. Got any pics of the Seiko?

Think you got a bargain there.

I'm on my phone so can't really link, but if you search for Yorkshire Watches on eBay you should find it.

I liked Argos when they had different symbols for each feature of a watch, waterproof etc., I would try and find the watch with most features, because obviously that would be the best watch in the world.

I was 7 in 1985.

Yep, agree with the symbols. biggrin

BTW I was 13 in 1985. Gimme your dinner money, shorty. Wait, how tall are you now?

Only 6 foot 2. Built like Basil Fawlty though.

Edited to add Seiko auction.
