I was reading a recent "recommend me a watch" thread and saw the Jorg Gray 6500 which I like the look of.

A bit of a google showed it as the "Obama" watch but that doesn't put me off too much wink

I'm not that clued up on watches at all and I have a question......

There is a 6500-44 model available which has a Swiss RONDA quartz chronograph movement rather than a Japanese one (apparently as fitted to Citizen watches).

The Swiss movement one is $795 rather than $350 - is it worth spending the extra?

Cheers

There's no way I would spend more than double on a Swiss quartz rather than a Japanese one (in that situation.).
I would go for the cheaper one I reckon. smile

Thanks for the reply.

I thought that might be the case. It's just going to be an everyday watch so I'll go for the regular (Japanese movement) one.

They also do a numbered commemorative edition for the same price so I might go for that....

I would imagine the Miyota chronograph would be around 20-35quid and the Rhonda possibly 40-60 quid if that.

Wow, I tried on a few Jorg Grays when I was in the states in October. I liked the JG1950 the most but there was just something about it that I didn't quite like on the wrist so I never purchased it. It was $120.00. They sell for approx £220 over here.
