Time to put the IWC Portuguese in for a service, any ideas on how much this is going to cost me?

The Portuguese is a beautiful watch, it uses the Valjoux 7750 as the base calibre. Nemesis is right, you'd be looking at c£450 for IWC to service the watch. I would have thought it would be a lot less at a good, independent watchmaker.

Wowee what do they actually do for that, never understood how it can cost so much to service a watch. I got my S4 serviced for that!

It's not an idle question by the way. I have 18 month old self-winder of my own that will need a service sooner or later.

They should strip it down completely to it's component parts, clean them all, replace any worn or broken parts, re-assemble using correct lubricants and then calibrate the timing during a full service.
